Facilities and Services

Our facility isn't fancy but we are proud of our phenomenal riding opportunities and the care which our horses and ponies receive. Our horses benefit from a large, waterfront grass ring with a full course of jumps, access to a sand ring with another full course of jumps, and several hundred acres of cropland around which to ride.

Boarding

Some of our horses and ponies live out 24/7 with run in sheds and blankets as needed, ample pasture and free choice hay. Sales ponies generally spend at least a portion of the day or night in a stall to promote a routine and optimize their nutrition and coat. Turnout is usually in pairs or small groups and we do have a limited amount of private turnout. We have dry lots available for ponies that cannot tolerate pasture.

Training

Lessons

Our lesson program has been temporarily suspended, allowing Jen to devote more time to training and sales ponies, as well as her own family.

Showing

We attend shows regularly with our young ponies and sales ponies. We most frequently show locally in order to expose our young ponies and keep costs manageable. Jen has limited her USEF showing in the last few years in order to devote more time to her two young children. However, we will attend rated shows when we have ponies ready to step up.

Jen does almost all of the riding and showing herself. We do have access to a talented junior rider for showing ponies when appropriate.

Marketing

Many horses and ponies that come in are for sale or will soon be going on the market. We can provide quality photographs and video to be used during advertising. We will also handle advertising and showing horses to clients if the seller wishes. JSB does not do a high volume of sales- Jen prides herself on honestly representing her horses and helping clients find horses and ponies that suit their goals and experience levels.
